Yesterday, Chelsea lost against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

It may have been the last straw for the London club's management, as coach Thomas Tuchel was forced to leave the club the day after the loss.

Just an hour or so after the announcement of Tuchel's resignation, several major English media, including Sky Sports and The Telegraph, reported that Graham Potter is the hottest name to take over Chelsea.

Trained Östersund 2011-18

Sky Sports reports that Brighton have given Potter permission to travel to London to meet representatives of the big club.

47-year-old Potter, who coached Östersund from 2011-18 and, among other things, led them from Division 2 to Allsvenskan and a sensational round of 16 in the Europa League, has been coach at Brighton since 2019. The team took the club's best ever league position last season, when the team finished ninth in the Premier League.

They have started this year's season brilliantly and are currently fourth, just two points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Potter is said to have a clause that gives him the right to leave Brighton for a sum of 10 million pounds, which corresponds to almost 124 million Swedish kronor.
