The eleven people have been served with suspicion of participation in violent riots, the police write in a press release.

- It sends important signals that so many people have been served with suspicion in this first round of questioning.

This is an investigation that will grow and more people who participated in the violent riots are identified, says local police area manager in Solna, Caroline Westlund.

According to the police, extensive footage has been reviewed by investigators.

This includes the arena's surveillance cameras, the production companies' material and the police's own cameras.

The eleven people who have been arrested have been banned from entering all arenas in Sweden as punishment.

Something that is in line with the new strategy applied by the police, where instead of shutting down parts of the grandstand capacity (what is referred to as the conditional staircase), they instead target individuals who are considered to have broken the rules of order.

After the final whistle in the 2–2 match between AIK and Hammarby at Friends Arena, fights broke out in two different places in the arena.

Later in the evening, the police also detained 97 people in Årsta, where a violent confrontation broke out.
