Chelsea terminate Tuchel's contract

Chelsea Football Club announced the termination of the contract of German coach Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea said in a statement today, Wednesday, that the new owners of the club "believe the time is right to take this step", after the owner group spent 100 days since its acquisition of the club.

"On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, the club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time at the club."

Tuchel led Chelsea to win the Champions League in 2021, and followed him up by winning the Club World Cup in 2022.

However, the team did not start well in the new version of the Champions League, as the team lost to Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia with a clean goal.

In the English Premier League, Chelsea are sixth, five points behind leaders Arsenal.
