The 49-year-old German took over at Chelsea in January 2021, finishing the season by leading the team to the Champions League title.

Last season the team took home the FA Cup, but this year things have started worse.

The team is "only" sixth in the league, after three wins, one draw and two losses.

And despite the fact that the team thus defeated West Ham in the last round, Tuchel is now allowed to leave the club.

"Chelsea Football Club has today ended the collaboration with head coach Thomas Tuchel," the club writes on its website, where they thank the German for his contribution to the club.

"Thomas will rightfully have a place in the club's history having won the Champions League, the Supercup and the Club World Cup during his time here."
