Real Madrid made a perfect start in their journey towards defending the Champions League title, but the specter of injuries dulled the royal club's joy by winning 3-0 against Celtic, and this came in an evening in which Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland wrote history in the most expensive competitions at the club level.

French striker Karim Benzema left the stadium of Real Madrid's match with Celtic in Group F 30 minutes after the start of the match, after suffering a knee injury.

It seemed that Benzema, 34, was injured after passing the ball, before signs of pain appeared on his face.

He tried to be prejudiced and stayed on the field for a few minutes before being replaced by fellow Belgian Eden Hazard.

Benzema's injury raises an emergency situation in the royal club, given his great role with the team, as he topped the list of top scorers in the last edition of the Champions League, which Real Madrid crowned, after scoring 15 goals, and scored four goals in five matches in all competitions this season.

Benzema was not the only injury in the match, as defender Eder Militao left between the two halves and could not complete the match, and Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti used the German Antonio Rudiger to strengthen Real Madrid's defense in the second half.

Real Madrid ended the match with a hat trick by Vinicius Junior, Luka Modric and Eden Hazard in the 56th, 60th and 77th minutes.

In another match in the same group, it also witnessed the victory of Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine against Leipzig of Germany 4-1.

Mbappe wins the top

In the top of Tuesday's matches, Paris Saint-Germain decided its match against its guest, Juventus, 2-1, in Group H.

Young star Kylian Mbappe scored two goals for Paris Saint-Germain, becoming the youngest player to reach 35 goals in the Champions League, surpassing his colleague Lionel Messi, who held this record.

It seemed that Paris Saint-Germain was heading towards an easy victory over Juventus, but the old lady's club returned in the second half and reduced the difference through Weston McKinney in the 53rd minute, and he was close to a tie and returning with a point at the beginning of his career in the tournament.

Coach Philip Galtier's team is tied with three points at the top of Group H with Benfica, who beat Maccabi Haifa 2-0.

Haaland never stops recording

On the other hand, Norwegian top scorer Erling Haaland continued his amazing start with his new team, Manchester City, and led him to victory at the Spanish stadium of Seville 4-0, in Group G, which also witnessed Borussia Dortmund's victory over its Danish guest Copenhagen 3-0.

Haaland scored two goals against Sevilla after scoring ten goals in six matches in the English Premier League, in the best possible start with Manchester City after coming from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Haaland, 22, became the first player to score 25 goals in his first 20 matches in the Champions League, and if the Norwegian star continues at this level, the offer of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has the most goals in the history of the competition with 140 goals, will threaten the offer, knowing that Ronaldo has not scored any A goal in his first 20 matches in the Champions League.
