A symposium was held to share the menstrual problems faced by female athletes and give hints on how to solve them and how to face competition.

This symposium was held by UNIVAS (University Sports Association) and Juntendo University, and at the venue in Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture, Yuko Arimori, who won medals in the women's marathon for two consecutive Olympics, a specialist doctor, and a university About 90 people participated, including students from the sports club.



At the symposium, nearly 400 female athletes, including those representing Japan, were surveyed about sanitary products. More than half of the respondents answered that their exercise performance was declining. It was reported that female athletes have troubles such as performance being affected.

A panel discussion was held next, and Yuka Murofushi, a women's hammer thrower, said, "It was painful because my body didn't listen to what I was saying during training before and after my period, and I was worried. I want it to be less," he called.



A third-year male student who participated said, "I think it's important to know about women's worries and problems."



In addition, a first-year female student said, "She has never learned about athletes and menstruation in detail, so I hope there will be more opportunities like this and more people with correct knowledge."
