During the spring and summer, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd gained more and more confidence in the team building of the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson.

And in the last group stage match against Portugal, she also made her EC debut.

J

- It was incredibly tough to play in the championship.

In retrospect, I have also experienced what it is like to receive a lot of criticism.

That you can't always succeed with your moves and feints.

It is special to play in a championship.

That's another thing, she notes.

Are we going to see you do fewer draws do you mean?

-

Absolutely not.

Rather that I need to tip to them and do it at the speed I actually possess and not standing still.

I need to work a bit on recording as well and getting to the final product, it's something I've been training on already and working on in my club.

For the 25-year-old, who has high demands on himself and studies his own actions, the championship was an eye-opener.

- I wouldn't say I was surprised, but maybe I hadn't understood before how tough it actually is to be in a championship or that it would hit like it did.

"Strengthens my shares"

Right after the EC, Rytting Kaneryd finished with Chelsea and left BK Häcken for the English WSL.

A change of club she believes strengthens her chances in the national team.

- I think that strengthens my shares, absolutely.

I now play in a top club in Europe and get a training environment that is challenging every day and where I feel I can take steps in my football career.

I am far from where I can be and hope to step up all the time.

On Tuesday, Sweden meets Finland in the WC qualifier, the match will be broadcast on SVT2 at 17.55.
