After cyberattacks on hospitals or companies blocked by "cyber ransoms", a taxi booking application was hacked to create a monster traffic jam.

There is a lot of talk about cyberattacks, hospitals or companies being blocked by “cyber ransoms”.

These computer attacks are taking a new turn.

A taxi booking application has been hacked to create a monster traffic jam.

It happened in the heart of Moscow a few days ago.

We had never seen this: three hours of traffic jams, hundreds of cars completely stopped, an incredible mess… Why?

Because smart guys have exploited a flaw in a taxi and VTC booking application.

And they sent all available cars to the same address.

Result: dozens and dozens of taxis converged on one of the main arteries of the city.

This completely saturated the traffic, whereas it is already very congested usually in Moscow.

But above all, it was not a hoax.

The cyberattack was claimed by the group of hackers “Anonymous”, associated with the famous “Computer Army” which the Ukrainian Prime Minister had asked to be created at the beginning of the Russian invasion.

So the objective was to put pressure on Vladimir Putin's government?

Exactly !

They targeted the taxi service of the company Yandex, the Russian Google, a company that rains and shines on everything related to the Internet in Russia.

It was they, for example, who arranged for all messages, which do not support Russian propaganda in the war in Ukraine, to disappear from search engines.

This was not the first attack of this famous pro-Ukrainian "Computer Army".

But it is the first that has really been noticed by the Russian population.

There is still little chance that this will push Putin to change policy.

Not really.

But this should alert us to the importance taken by all these applications.

And on the risks that await us if they were to be hacked.

We remind you: Paris will soon host the Olympic Games.

However, as we have seen with the story of the counterfeit tickets during the Champions League final at the Stade de France, it is not enough to cause a big mess and put innocent people in danger.

So we will also have to be wary of cyberattacks.
