How SDHL is played:

The league is played in 36 rounds between September 16 and February 26.

The top eight teams go to the playoffs.

Teams nine and ten have finished playing for the season.

The playoffs are played in quarter-semi and final.

Quarter-finals in the best of three games, semi- and final series in the best of five.

- Tackles are being introduced for the first time in Swedish women's hockey, and are a pilot project in SDHL and Damettan during the 2022/23 season.

- Former SHL goalkeeper Oscar Alsenfelt, with seven consecutive seasons in Malmö Redhawks, becomes the new sporting director for SDHL after ending his own playing career.
