A spokesman for the country's ruling AKP party said he was on the phone with Turkish Football Association president Mehmet Büyükeksi when the shooting took place.

“I strongly condemn the armed attack on the administration building of the Turkish Football Association in Riva.
A large-scale investigation has been launched regarding the attack," commented Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya on social media.
