Invited to Europe 1 Sport, the Minister of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Amélie Oudéa-Castéra returned for the first time to the dismissal of the general manager of the 2023 Rugby World Cup Claude Atcher.

“We were of course very concerned about what came out at the end of June,” explains the minister.

"I immediately decided to initiate two investigations, an internal investigation by the structure's Ethics Committee and another by the labor inspectorate."

"Worrying Findings"

On August 18, the ethics committee submitted its report to the minister.

The result was "worrying conclusions about Claude Atcher's management methods".

Overall, "a feeling of a team in distress".

For Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, there was a "need" to proceed with the sidelining of Claude Atcher, pending the conclusions of the labor inspectorate", which will arrive "during September".

Friday, at 8 a.m., a board of directors will be held within the Public Interest Group (GIP) 2023 to ratify this protective layoff, announces the minister.
