Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, 35, has won two consecutive World Cup 100m gold medals, and her personal best of 10.60 from last summer is the third fastest of all time.

But the world's best pole vaulter of all time, Swede Armand Duplantis, is convinced that he would beat Fraser-Pryce if the duo were to meet in a race.

- I would beat you.

Yes, he replied when the Jamaican gave a press conference ahead of tomorrow's Diamond League competition in Brussels.

"Much faster now"

When Fraser-Pryce questions him, he says he ran the 100 meters a couple of times when he was in high school in 2018. Fraser-Pryce then counters by saying that was five years ago.

- But I'm much faster now than I was five years ago, replied "Mondo".

- Do you want to bet, asks Fraser-Pryce.

- I could bet a lot on that, replies Duplantis, whereupon the duo shakes hands.

The press conference emcee then says that at next year's gala they can have a duel between the two.

- Yes, next year you can have a duel over 100 meters, between me and Shelly-Ann, answered Duplantis with a smile.

A duel that many would probably like to see...
