Alexander Isak joined Premier League club Newcastle for a record fee and expectations were high when he made his debut away to Liverpool on Wednesday night.

Isak got off to a flying start and netted in the 38th minute.

He also scored in the second half but it was ruled out for offside.

After the successful start, he is now celebrated.

Newcastle icon Alan Shearer was there quickly and tweeted after Isak's 1-0 goal.

"Oh yessssss Alex" he wrote followed by nine (!) clapping hands.

The newspaper Newcastle Chronicle gives Isak an eight rating with the justification "Made a big impression on his debut and threw Liverpool off balance.

An excellent first goal and then a harshly disallowed second goal.

He showed good physical form”.

British football legend Gary Lineker also paid tribute to Isak on Twitter: "Fantastic start for Alexander Isak, he gives Newcastle the lead at Anfield on his debut".

Even the injured teammate Bruno Guimaraes pays tribute to Isak: "What a goal by Isak!

This is football!!

So proud."

he wrote on Twitter during the match.
