He made it to the third round in the French Open and in Wimbledon he won the opening match - but in the US Open it continues to be difficult for Mikael Ymer.

The 23-year-old was down 2-1 in the set against Australian Jason Kubler when the match was interrupted due to rain tonight, Swedish time.

Tonight it resumed and you can't directly say that Ymer was on his toes at first.

The Swede, who was leading the fourth set 2–1 when the match was suspended, lost seven straight balls before managing to pick up a point on his own serve before Kubler broke him to go up 3–2.

After that, Ymer couldn't get up and finally lost the match 3–1 (5–7, 6–4, 6–2, 6–4) in sets.

Thus he went out of the US Open already in the first round for the third year in a row.

Ymer has otherwise done well lately.

Among other things, the 23-year-old advanced to the semi-finals of the Washington ATP tournament at the beginning of August after picking up some impressive scalps.
