Next Saturday, the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi will witness the expected launch of the UAE National Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, organized by the UAE Federation, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association (AJP), with the participation of hundreds of players from various clubs and academies in the categories of juniors, youth, adults and teachers.

The championship, which will be held on the 3rd and 4th of September, will start with juniors, youth and masters competitions on the first day, while the second day will witness competitions in the amateur and professional categories.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Yousef Al-Batran, said: “September is filled with a number of important tournaments that fans and practitioners of this sport are eagerly looking forward to, and the UAE National Championship is one of the most prominent events that prepares players to ideally prepare for what is to come of prominent global challenges. Especially the World Championship and the Abu Dhabi World Professional Championship, which will be hosted by the Jiu-Jitsu capital in October and November, respectively.”

Al-Batran continues: “The UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Championship provides a unique opportunity and an exceptional atmosphere to enjoy the performance of elite players with purple, brown and black belts, who will be keen to provide their best capabilities to qualify them to challenge for the podium.”

Al-Batran added: “The tournament reflects the joint efforts that bring together the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the Abu Dhabi Professionals Association in designing world-class tournaments that contribute to the development of this sport, creating a solid base of champions capable of representing national teams, and maintaining the balance of achievements made over the past years.” .

For his part, Tariq Al Bahri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, said: “The tournament is of great importance, as it is part of the annual classification approved by the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, as it awards the first place winner with 1,000 rating points for each category, which makes it an essential station. Within the season’s tournaments, in light of the keenness of players from different countries of the world to participate in them, enhance their points balance, and raise their annual ranking.”
