Matthaus, who also serves as an ambassador for the German Football Association and Bayern Munich and works with the Technical Committee of the International Football Association, said he was also happy that Dubai was chosen as the headquarters for the German team's preparations for the upcoming World Cup, noting that Dubai is an ideal choice to set up the training camp that precedes the World Cup finals. This came during the German star's visit to the headquarters of the Dubai Sports Council, where he met with the Secretary-General of the Council, Saeed Hareb, in the presence of Assistant Secretary-General Nasser Aman Al Rahma and the Council's External Relations Officer, Imran Al Jasmi.

The Dubai Sports Council said in a statement yesterday: "During the meeting, the sports relations linking the two sides and the ongoing preparations to attend the (German Machines) team to Dubai, which Matthaus described as the city of smiles and happiness, was reviewed. Those who do not know that he is a famous football player, he also praised the classy dealings and fast advanced services that he found while completing his transactions in Dubai.

Saeed Hareb stressed, "The great appreciation of German football and the strong relationship that combines the Emirati and German football, and the many visits of German clubs and teams to the UAE to set up annual training camps."

At the end of the meeting, Hareb presented the English version of My Story book to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and explained to the German star the values ​​and stories contained in the book, which chronicle important stages of the development of Dubai and the country.
