Paul Pogba is the victim of an "extortion attempt in an organized gang".

An investigation was opened this Sunday and Europe 1 is able to confirm and complete the information from our colleagues from Radio France.

The midfielder was heard by the French police.

He claims to have been threatened by a group of armed men who claim 13 million euros from him.

It's an unbelievable affair.

It all started last spring when Paul Pogba was in France for an internship with the Blues.

He took the opportunity to go home, in the Paris region.

According to his account, childhood friends take him for a drive and the player is unsuspecting.

13 million euros claimed from Pogba

It was then that he found himself in an apartment, surrounded by hooded and armed men who demanded 13 million euros from him: 13, like the 13 years during which the French player would have been "protected" by this group.

Most of them would be very close to the player, half a dozen, according to information from Europe 1.

Towards new revelations?

Paul Pogba has long been very generous financially with his clan, family, friends, but he would have said stop after yet another abuse.

That's when things would have gotten out of hand.

The player would have been pursued to Manchester, then to Turin, where he signed this summer.

Too much threat.

He alerted his lawyers before being heard by the Italian and then French police.

A dark story that once again highlights the sometimes toxic role of the entourage of football stars.

That of Paul Pogba's brother, Mathias, who released a mysterious video this weekend promising explosive revelations, seems particularly murky.
