OGC Nice hosts Olympique de Marseille this Sunday at 3 p.m.

A beautiful poster for the French championship but which had been marred, last season, by serious incidents in the stands.

Nice supporters physically attacked Marseille players and the match was finally stopped and then postponed.

A deleterious atmosphere, throwing projectiles, including one very close to the skull of Dimitri Payet and players on edge.

Nice supporters who invade the lawn to do battle and Marseille who take refuge in the locker room never to return.

It was August 22, 2021, an evening of shame for French football.

A year later, OM meet OGC Nice at the Allianz Riviera, this Sunday at 3 p.m.

OM goalkeeper Pau Lopez no longer wants to relive such moments.

"It's something we have to forget, I think already. It's a good test for us but I think the team is in a good dynamic and a good mentality", assures the Spanish goalkeeper who prefers to concentrate on the sporting aspect.

"This match must be perfect"

Still, the incidents are still in everyone's mind, especially since it was not an isolated case last season.

In Lyon, Dimitri Payet had been the victim of a bottle throw from the stands, forcing the referee to cancel the meeting after only three minutes of play.

On the Nice side, we assure that everything has been done to ensure the security of the match.

President Jean-Pierre Rivère sends a very clear message to these supporters: "I think that the lesson we have learned on this subject must be retained and I hope that everyone in the stadium will be aware that this match- there has to be perfect."

The president of Nice knows it, his club is playing big this afternoon after three games without a win in Ligue 1. OM supporters have also been banned from traveling, giving way to a 100% Nice Allianz Riviera.
