This Thursday at 6 p.m., the draw for the group stages of the prestigious Football Champions League will take place.

The two French clubs involved, OM and PSG, will therefore know their opponents for this competition which they approach with diametrically opposed ambitions.

It's a date that football fans have marked on their diary.

This Thursday at 6 p.m., the draw for the group stages of the Champions League will take place in Istanbul, Turkey.

Two French clubs await their opponents: Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille.

But the two teams have very different ambitions in this prestigious competition.

PSG, reigning French champions, are in hat 1 for the draw, in other words in the group of favorites.

OM, for their part, are in pot 4, that of the most modest clubs and which therefore have the most to fear from this draw.

Despite the many recruits, Marseille supporters are perplexed at the idea of finding the great Champions League.

The risk of "death group" for OM

2 years ago, OM had paled in comparison with elimination in the first round.

And this season, the set has something to make you dizzy.

In the worst-case scenario, Alexis Sanchez's teammates could fall into the same group as holders Real Madrid, Liverpool and Inter Milan.

The mission would then become almost impossible.

A favorable draw, on the other hand, would designate them Frankfurt, Sevilla FC and the Ukrainians of Shakhtar Donetsk.

Note that two teams from the same nation cannot be in the same pool.

As for PSG, often brilliant in the group stage, it is a much more affordable affair that is announced.

It will still be necessary to be wary of hat 2 which includes Chelsea, Tottenham or even FC Barcelona, reinvigorated this summer by improbable financial windfalls but also of Borussia Dortmund and Naples, present, them, in hat 3.

But with the thunderous start to the season for Christophe Galtier's men and the sparkling form of the Mbappé / Messi / Neymar trio, it is rather the potential opponents of the Parisian club who have to worry.
