The final of the "Remote Island Koshien" by junior high school baseball players from remote islands across the country was held in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture on the 25th, and the selected team from Sado City beat the team from Nagasaki Prefecture to win the championship.

"Remote Island Koshien" started in 2008 at the request of Mr. Choji Murata, a former professional baseball player of Lotte, in order to deepen exchanges with baseball players living on remote islands across the country, and was held in Sado City this year.



In the final on the 25th, Sado City's 1st and 2nd grade teams played against Nagasaki Prefecture's Shinkamigoto Five Stars in a pitchers' duel.



The team from Sado City, who was led by one point in the final round, tied the score in a timely manner, and won the championship with a 2-1 goodbye victory with a pushed four-ball.



Pitcher Futoshi Tsuchiya, who held down the opponent's batting line to 1 point, said, "I think that I was able to win by doing my own pitching well and waiting for support from my teammates."



In addition, Tsuchiya Tokio, who hit the tie in a timely manner, said, “It was a straight shot.



The next "Remote Island Koshien" will be held in Amami City, Kagoshima Prefecture next year.
