The attacking star has refused to play in the Norwegian national team in the future as she says she needs to prioritize her own health.

Caroline Graham Hansen talks about the decision on Instagram.

"It is with a heavy heart that I write this.

The national team has been a part of my life since I was 16 years old.

I have grown up here.

Gained experiences, memories and friends for life," she writes.

"After a year last year with heart problems and almost 50 matches, I still feel a tiredness that means I have to choose to listen to my body.

I need rest.

I need to recover.”

Furthermore, Graham Hansen writes that being able to represent the national team is "the proudest thing she has done in her career" and that "the love for the national team will always remain".

The 27-year-old has made 97 international appearances and 44 goals for Norway.

Graham Hansen doesn't seem to be completely done with the national team yet, as she says that "it's not a thank you for everything, but a goodbye".

Caroline Graham Hansen was included in the national team squad that new national team captain Hege Riise selected yesterday.

Riise has replaced Sweden's Martin Sjögren after this summer's EC fiasco.

Norway will face Belgium in the World Cup qualifier away from home on September 2.

Four days later, a new qualifying match awaits at home against Albania at Ullevål.

The Norwegian national team tops its group but is not yet qualified for next year's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
