After delivering in Jönköping Södra, performing in Sirius, being called to the January tour, Moustafa Zeidan is now a self-described cog in Malmö.

The points have been pouring in - but for the now 24-year-old creator, the football road has been crooked.

Brought up in Högaborgs BK, he took the step out to Aston Villa, England, as a 15-year-old.

After two years he was back in Sweden and Helsingborg before other stops awaited.

- I am quite honestly just grateful.

I have never doubted.

But I have wanted people to see it.

Football is an opinion sport which you've learned, so it's nice that people see you that way.

Why has Malmö felt like the right environment?

- Everything.

The club.

The team.

The personality, the mentality, everything suits me.

I knew that before I came.

The importance of never giving up

One who contributed to the progress in J-Södra was the then coach Andreas Brännström (today in Mjällby).

- Two years ago I landed with him and he worked a lot with me individually and explained things.

I am grateful for that.

Zeidan, who has scored seven points in the MFF shirt so far, feels, despite the lack of success then, no regrets about the move to Aston Villa.

- If you want to (take the step out early), if you want to, why not.

Do what you feel like, just never give up.

But if it doesn't work, you're still young, that's what people forget.

When I came back I was 18 years old.

Then people said it was a failure, but it wasn't.

People don't start their careers at the top level until 22 or 23 sometimes.

A time that helped

Growing up in the Helsingborg suburb Närlunda has helped him build a strong mentality.

- It has made me never doubt myself when things have gotten worse.

You get support.

At the same time: when things go well, you come down to earth when you're over there, so you don't get too much air.

How?

- It's my boys, my friends, who are on... I'm used to it and have been used to it for a long time.

It's nice.

You were previously selected for the January tour.

How often do you and national team captain Janne Andersson meet?

- We haven't heard anything.

What did it mean to you to become part of Blågult?

- It is a dream for everyone to represent Sweden at the top level, the highest level too.
