When the squad for the WC qualifiers was selected at the beginning of August, Jeffery Taylor's name was not included.

Despite the fact that he has not represented Sweden since 2013, it was surprising to some.

In an interview with SVT Sport, he explained that he refused because he wants to spend time with his daughters during the summer.

Mikko Riipinen, national team coach and good friend of Taylor, now says that they both have a close dialogue regarding a national team comeback.

- There is an opportunity, there is a dialogue.

He is a player who takes good care of his body and is very professional.

He has also been at a club where they don't wear their players out as much.

This means that he can very likely play at a high level for several more years, then there is also the chance that he can represent the Swedish national team, says Riipinen.

How far away is a return to the national team for Jeffery Taylor?

- I would like to say "not so far away".

But at the same time, it depends on which club address he ends up in, as the windows during the season are adapted to some leagues, but not others.

Depending on which league you play in, you will not be released to the national team.

That was the problem at his former club, he wasn't available during the national team windows.

This summer, Jeffery Taylor left Real Madrid after seven years.

He is now a free agent and is looking for his next club address, which he himself hopes is in one of Europe's top leagues.
