In the second half, Marcus Rashford added the second goal for Manchester after a pass from Anthony Martial, after which Rashford was singled out by the Liverpool goalkeeper and hit his right into the net.

The Egyptian Mohamed Salah responded with a goal for Liverpool (82).

Manchester began his campaign this season by losing to his host Brighton 1-2 and then fell to his guest Brentford by four clean points, while Liverpool drew in their first match with their host Fulham 2-2 and then tied with their guest Crystal Palace 1-1.

Manchester scored its first three points to advance to the fourteenth place, one point behind Liverpool, who is in 16th place.
