At 2–2 in the set, Kristian Karlsson cut his thumb open after colliding with the edge of the table tennis table.
He was taken care of by the medical team and tried to play on - but it didn't work.
- I saw blood immediately, but did not know how serious it was.
But when he tried to play on later, I saw how much pain he was in, says Darko Jorgic.
Tells what he said
They both then embraced with the Swede in tears.
Jorgic tells what he said to the Swede:
- Kristian, I am very sorry for you.
We played very well today and I'm sure it would have gone to seven sets.
- I want to wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back soon.
