This weekend, the Swedish biathlon elite settle for the SC medals on roller skis, and Elvira Öberg gave a real statement of strength in the short distance race over 12.5 kilometers.

She shot, just like the bronze medalist Emma Nilsson, four zeroes and was completely superior on the wet asphalt.

"Fantastically satisfied"

- I'm incredibly satisfied, you don't get to shoot four zeroes every day.

It's about as good as it gets, she says in the victory interview.

The fact that she broke a pole on the sprint lap mattered less.

- I must have put the pole inside the roller skis, easily happened when you start to get tired.

Luckily, I had a spare pole up at the top so I didn't have to ride the whole sprint lap anyway.

Heavy for Nilsson

Silver medalist Hanna Öberg was two minutes and ten seconds behind at the finish line after three misses, two in the first shot and one in the final shot.

Stina Nilsson had a harder day on the shooting range and finished sixth after five hurdles, 3.10 behind Elvira Öberg.

Öberg also won the cross-country race over 7.5 kilometers, which was decided yesterday.
