Mattias Falck was victorious in the Swedish meeting with Anton Källberg in the round of 16 in the table tennis EC.

The winning numbers were written at 4–1 to set for the new EC gold medalist in doubles.

- Disappointed and frustrated that I don't manage to make a better match.

He controls the game and returns solidly, I have a hard time.

It is positive that you lose against a Swede in any case, says Källberg after the loss.

Falck will face the winner of the second Swedish meeting in the quarter-finals where Truls Möregårdh and Jon Persson meet on Friday evening.

The all-Swedish quarter-final means that at least one Swedish player will reach the semi-final, which results in an automatic EC medal as no bronze matches are played.

Karlsson knocked out the Frenchman

Falck's doubles partner, Kristian Karlsson, is also ready for the quarter-finals.

Karlsson defeated Frenchman Alexis Lebrun 4–2 in sets in his round of 16 final.

Karlsson faces Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Germany, in the quarterfinals.
