Lewandowski's watch stolen while signing for fans

The watch of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, newcomer to Barcelona, was stolen while he was stopping in front of the Joan Gamper training center to sign for fans, local police told AFP on Friday, who succeeded in arresting the thief.

"Liva" was robbed yesterday afternoon, when the 33-year-old, who moved in July from Bayern Munich, arrived in his car at the Joan Gamper training center and stopped to greet and sign the fans (autographs), as the Catalan police explained.

Then, a young man got out of the car and removed the watch from the international striker's wrist.

After receiving a report about the theft, the police succeeded in arresting the 19-year-old thief less than an hour later, who was still keeping the watch and was hiding in a bush near the center.

Police explained that he was charged with "theft with violence", because even if the player was not abused, the fact that the watch was removed from his hand motivates this description.

Lewandowski is considered the most prominent La Liga deal this season, as he left the Bavaria giant, who has defended his colors since 2014, to join the Catalan club for 45 million euros.
