When Mattias Falck and Kristian Karlsson yesterday secured their first EC gold in doubles, it was the first time in 26 years that a Swedish pair had won.

But there was probably no bigger and longer celebration.

Because already today, both golden heroes were to play again, as the table tennis men's singles tournament continued.

Had to wear

Falck was first out, in the round of 16 against Pole Milosz Redzimiski.

And it was another victory for Falck.

However, he was forced to struggle a bit, but won with 4–2 in the set, after the set numbers 11–6, 7–11, 11–4, 11–8, 10–12, 11–7.

Round of 16 this afternoon

Anton Källberg is also through to the round of 16, after defeating Hungary's János Bence Majoros 4–1: 11–8, 11–8, 15–13, 7–11, 11–9.

In the round of 16, Källberg will face Mattias Falck.

Later today, Kristian Karlsson, Truls Möregårdh and Jon Persson will play round of 16 finals.

The round of 16 will be played this afternoon.
