The junior crowns got a real cold shower already after four minutes when Bennet Rossmy outwitted Calle Clang in the box who failed to cover the post properly, and the puck slipped in a funny way right at the goal post.

Sweden would equalize just under two minutes later.

In the power play, Emil Andrae passed to Oskar Olausson on the right wing, who thanks to a brilliant pass from Daniel Ljungman was able to score 1-1.

The goal gave the team energy.

And before the first period was over, Sweden would have a 3-1 lead.

Where Ljungman was responsible for the art number of the match at 2-1 when, on a return that came at chest height of the attacker, he managed to crank the puck straight into the goal.

Sweden had, like previous matches during the group stage, very difficult to come to dangerous ends centrally.

And although the Junior crowns had a huge shot advantage, it was Germany who created the hotter chances in the middle stages of the match.

Then Clang showed class at the checkout.

In an uneventful third, Sweden would increase to 4-1 when Ljungman scored his second of the match.

Sweden eventually won 4-2.

The junior crowns are now pitted against Latvia in the quarter-finals.
