Yesterday, Abdullah Obaid Al Ketbi and Obaid Al Hammadi, players of the archery team, qualified for the round of 16 in the activities of the Fifth Islamic Solidarity Games, which will be hosted by the Turkish city of Konya until the 18th of this month, while Sultan Al Ketbi lost in the qualifying rounds.
Abdullah Al Ketbi scored a distinguished number for the UAE in the sport of bow and arrow, whether at the local level or external forums, as he scored 627 points, while Obaid Al Hammadi scored 580 points.
In a press statement, Obaid Al Hammadi stressed the strength of the competitions in light of the presence of some Olympic champions, including the Turkish Gazouz, the gold medalist of the Tokyo Olympics, and said: "We hope to provide more distinguished results and benefit from this forum in the best possible way."
The duo of the shooting team, Mohammed Hussein and Seif bin Fattis, were not successful in the skeet competition.
In judo, the national team’s star, Saeed Al-Naqbi, in the weight of 73 kg, defeated Mozambican Ayton Seeker in the preliminary round, and defeated Saudi Suleiman Hammad in the round of 16, before losing to Azerbaijani Nariman Mirzaev in the quarter-finals.

In the field of fencing, Khalifa Al-Zarouni lost from the first-ranked Moroccan Hossam Al-Kurd in the round of 32 in the Ibi competition, while Abdullah Al-Hamadi defeated the seventh-ranked Azerbaijani Qaliev Barat in the round of 32, and lost to the tenth-ranked Uzbek Muminov Nurbrick in the round of 16.
The duo of the swimming team, Mahra Al-Shehhi and Maha Al-Shehhi, finished the semi-finals of the women's 100m race with a time of 1:04:34 and 1:05.76, respectively, while Mira Al-Shehhi achieved 30.75 seconds in the women's 50-meter butterfly, and Saeed Ahmed Farag achieved a time of 26.22 in the 50 race.
