Man United coach: The players threw my plan in the "trash"

Manchester United manager Eric Ten Hag has blamed the players, not the plan, for the team's 4-0 defeat to Brentford yesterday evening in the second phase of the English Premier League.

Manchester United faced a predicament when it was delayed by four during the first half of yesterday's match, in light of the poor performance of the defense and the success of Brentford to exploit opportunities.

The Dutch coach said the players threw the plan in the trash.

Goalkeeper David de Gea did not provide the required performance in the attempt to stop Belinda Joshua Da Silva and Mathias Janssen, so Brentford advanced with a double during the first 18 minutes, then Benin Mei starred in adding the third goal in the 30th minute, and Brian Mbiomo doubled the suffering of Manchester United with the fourth goal in the 35th minute. The defeat came Tin Hag became the first coach to lose Manchester United under his leadership, the first two games, since John Chapman in 1921.

Manchester United remained without points to be bottom in the English Premier League for the first time in three decades, and Ten Hag questioned the enthusiasm of the team's players.

"First, the Brentford players were more motivated, and secondly, we conceded goals with individual errors," said Ten Hag.

"You may have a good plan, but you throw the plan in the trash," he added in comments published by the British news agency "PA Media."

He added, "I think it has nothing to do with the plan. The first two goals are because of not handling the ball properly, as well as decisions."

He continued: "I think they followed my instructions but the decisions were bad. This is football, it was a game with mistakes and we were punished for these mistakes."
