Before the GP competition in Cardiff, Sweden's Fredrik Lindgren was in fifth place overall in the speedway's Grand Prix.

And chased new important points in the quest to really mix in the top battle.

Lindgren collected nine points in the competition and advanced to the semi-finals.

Where Jason Doyle was sent off after a false start.

Once the heat started, the Swede couldn't handle Patryk Dudek and home driver Dan Bewley.

Lindgren was third in the semi-final and missed the final, finishing sixth overall.

- It was a tough competition for everyone, the course was difficult to master, but that's how it is.

There is not much you can do about it, says Lindgren to Discovery after the semi-final.

- It is clear that you are disappointed.

I'm going here to win.

But I don't make it all the way today, but that's how it is.

The others are a little better, you just have to admit it.

Home winner

During the GP season, Lindgren has taken two third places.

In the final it was Dan Bewley who was the strongest.

The Brit got off to a good start in the final and was then able to easily take home his first GP victory in his career in front of a jubilant home crowd.
