Brentford blew up a big surprise and outperformed Manchester United by a full four in the second stage of the English Premier League, a result that pushed United to the bottom of the competition.

Manchester United continued its collapse at the beginning of the new season for the Premier League, and received its second loss after its defeat at home last week against its guest Brighton 2-1.

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo scored his presence in the starting lineup after entering as a substitute in the previous match, but that was not enough to improve the performance of Manchester United, who is facing a difficult period with new coach Eric Ten Hag, who took over the leadership of the team this season.

Brentford advanced through Josh da Silva in the tenth minute, before Matthias Jansen added the second goal in the 18th minute.

In the 30th minute, Ben Mai scored the third goal for the host team, then his colleague Brian Mbimo scored the fourth goal in the 35th minute.

Brentford reached the fourth point, to occupy the third place, while waiting for the rest of the results of the second stage matches, while Manchester United are at the bottom of the competition without a balance of points.

United will face a difficult test next week when they host Liverpool at Old Trafford, in a match that may witness protests by the "Red Devils" fans who are calling for the team's management to leave because of the club's disappointing results in recent years.
