Goalkeeper Bella Bixby scored a mistake against her team, the Portland Thorns, after making a strange lapse while blocking an easy ball from the host team's Washington Spirit, during a confrontation between the two teams in the American Football League.

And in the strange goal shot, specifically at the 76th minute, goalkeeper Bixby tried to catch an easy ball that was shot by the Washington player and she actually managed to catch it, but during that she was backing towards the net so that the player entered the ball in her team’s goal without realizing it.

When Bixby realized her mistake, she threw the ball from her hand outside the goal, to re-attack the home team, but the goal was calculated as "reverse" by goalkeeper Bixby.

This game is CHAOS!

And the NFL Women's League account posted on Twitter a video of the goal, commenting, "With this chaotic game, Washington Spirit is leading by mistake," while the official Washington Club page wrote, "Oh my God, on this goal."

One of the tweeters wrote, mocking the goal, "Women's football is the best. You can't get such things in the men's game," while another expressed his surprise at such a mistake, asking, "How could this happen?"

Le CSC le plus étrange de l'année : elle rate sa sortie, s'empare finalement du ballon et... là, c'est le drame 😬 pic.twitter.com/Dzwj4RcPzJ

It was fortunate for Bixby that her team returned in the match and managed to turn the score on the hosts, ending the match 2-1 in favor of the Portland Thorns, who consolidated its lead in the league standings.

How does that happen?

Best explanation there appears to be that Bella Bixby just lost track of where she was.

Goalkeeping can be thankless, but I'm not sure I've ever seen that before.
