Admittedly, the Danes had only one of their Olympic vice-champions in Tokyo last year in their ranks.

But the French signed a superb performance by becoming European team pursuit champions this Friday in Munich, Germany.

🥇 At the goal of an epic duel against the Danes in the final, the French Quentin Lafargue, Benjamin Thomas, Valentin Tabellion and Thomas Denis win the team pursuit gold medal

Thomas Boudat, Quentin Lafargue, Valentin Tabellion and Benjamin Thomas made the Scandinavians bend in the last 1,000 meters.

The Italians didn't even reach the bronze final without star Filippo Ganna and Simone Consonni.

Bronze medal for the French

The two French pursuit teams climbed onto a podium since Les Bleues had taken bronze a little earlier.

Victoire Berteau, Valentine Fortin, Clara Copponi and Marion Borras inflicted a lap on the British, deprived of their stars Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald, after only 2,800 meters.

In the previous round, Les Bleues were only beaten by 47/1000 by the Italians (without Elisa Balsamo) who deprived them of the final for gold.
