As recently as the day before yesterday, Skellefteå coach Robert Ohlsson said that Joakim Lindström would probably not play for them in the coming season.

- "Jocke" said early on that he would not drive here now with us.

Then you hope that he will take back that decision, but that is his question, he then told the newspaper Norran.

But now, just two days later, the 38-year-old has extended the contract.

- It feels super fun.

It will be fun to go out on the ice with the boys again.

I feel charged.

It feels like we have a very good team going here so it will be incredibly fun, he says.

General manager Erik Forssell is very pleased with Lindström's announcement.

- Of course, it feels great to have finished with Jocke.

We have had a dialogue for a long time and he needed some time to feel that he had the power to give everything.

Lindström has scored 464 points in 479 games for Skellefteå.

In total, he is eighth all-time in the SHL's scoring leaderboard.
