Austria did have a shot on target at 0-0 midway through the first period, but they never got any closer than that.

Sweden took over more and more the longer the match went on and after two periods played it was more or less decided, 4-0, after two goals by team captain Emil Andrae, among other things.

- It's great that the pucks went in, but the most important thing is that we win, says Andrae.

The third period was just as rejected.

Sweden already had the victory as if in a small box and Austria was never close to changing that.

5–0 came after Fabian Lysell found the first cross from a tight angle on the power play and with 25 seconds left to play Theodor Niederbach made it 6–0 which was also the final score.
