The news had been in the air for some time, it is now official.

Vahid Halilhodzic will not guide Morocco at the World Cup in Qatar (November 20 – December 18, 2022).

The Moroccan federation (FRMF) published a press release on Thursday in which it evokes "differences of points of view" between the institution and the 70-year-old Franco-Bosnian technician.

These would relate to the preparation for the World Cup, which begins in just over three months and during which the Atlas Lions will evolve in group F, with Belgium, Canada and Croatia.

The FRMF speaks of an “amicable” separation and “thanks” Halilhodzic, in office since August 2019, when he succeeded Hervé Renard.
