Thobias Montler did not have one of his best nights in Monaco's Diamond League competition.

The 26-year-old, who was eleven in the World Cup final just under a month ago, was noted for five out of six possible oversteps.

On the only approved jump, which came in the third round, measured 7.96 and was enough for fifth place.

Tentoglou won

He was given, for unclear reasons, the opportunity to make another jump in the fifth and final regular round.

But even that became an overstep.

The Greek Miltiadis Tentoglou won.

His longest jump measured 8.31, and in the final round he reached 8.30 which was the same distance as American Marquis Dendy did in the final round.

Dendy also reached 8.31 in the preliminary rounds, but had a better third jump.
