Serena Williams is one of the absolute biggest names of all time in the world of tennis.

The 40-year-old American has won 23 individual Grand Slam titles and for long periods dominated the sport.

But now it seems that she will soon end her active career.

In Vogue magazine, Williams writes, albeit somewhat cryptically, that the US Open will be her last competition.

The competition is played in New York at the turn of August to September.

“It's the hardest thing I can ever imagine doing.

I don't want it to be over, but at the same time I'm looking forward to what's to come," the star writes, among other things.
