When Simon Pettersson won SM gold this weekend, both he and Daniel Stål threw over 70 meters.

It was the fifth time in history that two people threw over 70 meters in the same competition.

At the Continental Tour gala in Hungary, one person exceeded the dream limit - but no one was Swedish.

WC gold medalist Kristjan Céh threw 71.23 already in the first round and put the competitors in jeopardy.

When six rounds were completed, the Swedes were not close.

Third and fifth

Ståhl threw 67.01 the longest and finished third after Céh and Andrius Gudžius.

Simon Pettersson could not build on the SM success, but had to settle for fifth place and a length of 64.08.

The EC in Munich 15-21 August is broadcast on SVT.

The discus qualifier is August 17 and the final on the 19th.
