The margin of victory for Lina Strand, Sara Hagström and Tove Alexandersson was over five minutes to the silver medalist Czech Republic and down to third-placed Switzerland, seven minutes.

Sweden was in the lead from the start and moved into fourth place, 53 seconds behind Finland.

But considering the tough forking, it was a good starting position Lina Strand sent out Sara Hagström on.

"Brilliant stretch"

Early in the second leg, things happened when the leading Finnish Marika Teini missed by over five minutes and two teams ran away in the fight for the noble medals, the Czech Republic and Sweden.

Both teams had about two minutes down to the nearest team.

Hagström then continued to increase the distance to all teams, including the Czech Republic who switched a minute later.

- She does a technically brilliant stretch.

A fantastic championship for her, says SVT's expert Mats Troeng.

On the final stretch, it was Tove Alexandersson's turn to take on the difficult terrain that had caused her great concern earlier during the championship.

But today there was no doubt that the confidence was back.

Alexandersson sailed away and ran home Sweden's third gold and sixth medal.

- I was really focused today and wanted to do as well as the girls before.

It feels so good and I really like the feeling of the relays, says Alexandersson.

Sweden is now the reigning world and European relay champion on the women's side.
