Crystal Palace and Arsenal kicked off a new Premier League season on Friday and on Saturday the premiership party continues.

Among other things, last year's runner-up Liverpool will be pitted against newcomer Fulham away from home.

But the season will be special.

On November 21, the football World Cup begins in Qatar, which means that the last matches before the World Cup break will be played on November 12-13.

On Boxing Day, eight days after the World Cup final (December 18), the Premier League is back again.

Klopp: "The players are the most important"

Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp is skeptical about the league suspension.

- The problem is the players.

If you go to the final, or reach the semi-finals, you are quite busy and then it (the league) starts up a week later, says the German at a press conference the day before the premiere.

- I wasn't angry before I came here, but when we start talking about it, I get angry.

Something has to change.

We should talk about it properly, Fifa, Uefa, Premier League and FA (English Football Association).

Start talking to each other.

The most important part of the sport is the players.

Everyone has their own interests and that doesn't make it any easier.

The World Cup happens at the wrong time and for the wrong reason.

Tuchel: "Exhausted"

On Saturday, Chelsea also steps into the new Premier League season when they visit Everton.

Chelsea's coach, Thomas Tuchel, is also on Klopp's trail.

Tuchel expects the players to return exhausted, both physically and mentally - and he also hopes that a mid-season championship never happens again.

- Hopefully not, says Tuchel according to The Times.

- The players are already focused on the World Cup, which is good because they take care of themselves and are in shape.

But it is also bad.

They are focused on the WC and are not here.

I think some of them are already thinking about November.
