In anticipation of the fight with Alexander Emelianenko, which will take place in September, one of the main stars of the domestic pop MMA, Vyacheslav Datsik, did not waste time in vain.

In the summer, he managed to meet at once with two age-old legends of mixed martial arts, continuing their careers despite a series of setbacks.

In June, he knocked out Antonio Silva, the offender of Fedor Emelianenko, who is currently suffering one early defeat after another, in the second round.

Next in line was another former rival of the Last Emperor, Russified Jeff Monson, who lost to Emelianenko Jr. in a bare-knuckle fight in February by decision of the judges.

Datsik was considered the clear favorite of the confrontation.

First, he is almost ten years younger.

Secondly, at the weigh-in ceremony he was immediately 23 kg heavier (127.1 kg versus 104.1 kg).

In addition, he is 11 cm taller.

Finally, Vyacheslav is in better shape and in 2022 won two victories with one controversial misfire, while Monson entered the ring only once.

The fight was additionally intriguing due to the fact that it took place according to MMA rules, according to which Red Tarzan had not fought since 2019, and his opponent did not fight at all since 2016, when he defeated Shannon Ritch.

This should have worked in the hands of a veteran black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a basic wrestler.

He himself admitted that he was going to focus on his strengths.

“I expect him to try to knock me out, and I will try to take him to the ground and strangle or break his arm.

He doesn't plan to fight me on the ground, I don't want to fight him on the stand.

On the other hand, it did not leave a feeling of a certain artificiality of what was happening.

He did not deceive and really made a bet on the fight.

But Datsik competently held the veteran's neck and endured until the break.

The second round was already under the dictation of Vyacheslav.

Monson ran out of strength and no longer tried to go into the fight.

But Datsik did not strive to achieve a knockout at all costs, but only delivered dense shots to the body.

After one of them, which came to the liver, Monson's face was distorted by a grimace of pain, but he continued the fight.

The final three-minute period also remained with Datsik.

Red-haired Tarzan even pleasantly surprised the audience by making a successful throw and exercising lateral control.

But Datsik did not try to perform a painful or suffocating one, but invited the opponent to stand up.

He, in turn, in the end tried to make a pass to the legs, but to no avail.

After the end of the fight, the judges had no choice but to take the side of Datsik.

All three referees gave him the victory with a score of 29:28.

And Vyacheslav celebrated his success in the arms of Monson.
