The last win for Norrköping came on May 15 (5-1 against Gif Sundsvall).

A dismal streak after that with five straight without a win led to head coach Rikard Norling being fired.

After the coaching change, with assistant coaches Anes Mravac and Vedran Vucicevic temporarily leading the team, there have been three straight losses.

But the first point came on Saturday at home against Degerfors.

Degerfors pressed and had a great position at a turn of the game that ended up with Omar Faraj.

Somewhat hindered by a strong home run Jonathan Levi, Faraj did not get a proper shot, instead the threatening goalkeeper Oscar Jansson was able to parry.

It was the second time in the match that Jansson stopped a dangerous shot from Faraj.

The opening goal came in the sequence after that, just over half an hour into the match, but then in the other direction.

Christoffer Nyman was strong in the air and headed in Godswill Ekpolo's cross to make it 1-0.

"Truly a group victory"

It was an even match where both teams switched positions with each other, but the vast majority and best came from Degerfors.

But the guests never got a hole in a big-playing Oscar Jansson.

Instead, Arnor Sigurdsson was able to close the game for IFK Norrköping when he came completely clean from half the pitch and safely rolled the ball in.

- We have been fighting for a few weeks now and I want to pay tribute to our interim coaches and the entire management staff who have had to endure a lot.

This was really a group victory, it was fantastically nice, stated Oscar Jansson in the Discovery plus broadcast after the match.
