Gold and bronze for the UAE judo team at the Asian Championships

The national judo team won a gold and a bronze medal at the Asian Judo Championships for Elite Champions, in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

The tournament was held with the participation of 17 teams, including 5 Arab teams.

Our national team was at the top of its overall standings, while Japan was at the top of the overall standings with 5 gold and 2 silver medals.


During the coronation, the national anthem was played and the state flag was hoisted after Zafer Kosov won the gold in the under 100 kg by defeating Kazakhstan player Islam Ozbayev, while our team won fifth place in the tournament with the participation of players.


Nasser Al-Tamimi, Secretary General of the Emirates Judo Federation, and Treasurer of the International Judo Federation participated in the closing ceremony.

On the first day of the tournament, our national team player Basho Nogzari won the bronze in the under-81 kg at the expense of the outstanding player Vladimir from Kyrgyzstan.

The mission received, during a phone call, the congratulations of Muhammad bin Thaloub Al-Dari, President of the Wrestling and Judo Federation, on the occasion of the outstanding level that the judo team showed during the Asian Elite Championship and winning the first bronze in the weight of under 81 kg.

Al-Darei exceptionally praised the strong level of the young player Al-Naqbi in his match against Kyrgyzstan champion Artur in the under-73 kg category, which represents a project for a strong player in the field of the game.
