Yesterday, Heidi Weng made a comeback in a competitive context when she came third in the climbing race Lysebotn Opp

She has had a very tough 2022. She missed the Olympics after getting sick with covid, and in March she hit her head on the ice, which caused a concussion that plagued her during the spring.

Now Heidi Weng speaks out on Norwegian TV 2 about the tough period.

"The head will explode"

Weng says that she has not been able to live a normal life.

- Being social and driving has been the worst, it has caused me to get a lot of headaches.

It was terrible at first.

Lying in bed and feeling like your head is going to explode is not something I can recommend, she says.

- It has also been a relief that I can now listen to music.

Before, I could only listen to quiet piano music.

Was bedridden after a dinner with the king

That she agreed to a castle dinner with King Harald V in May had long-lasting consequences for the 31-year-old.

- It has been incredibly difficult.

I dined with the King on May 12, then had to lie in bed for three days afterwards.

I've missed Ragnhild Haga's wedding and lots of other things, says Heidi Weng.
