In office since 2017, the coach of the French women's team, Corinne Deacon, has seen her contract extended until 2024 by the FFF.

With the 2023 World Cup and the Paris Olympics in 2024, the former Clermont coach is offered two new chances to bring a first international title to French women's football.

This extension is not a surprise when you know the affection of the boss of the FFF, Noël Le Graët, who had supported him the day after the elimination at the gates of the final against Germany.

Mainly criticized for his strong choices and his divisive personality, the president of the Federation had set him the objective of reaching the semi-finals.

Objective achieved for Corinne Deacon who had the luxury of not selecting the Lyonnaise champions of France and Europe, Eugénie le Sommer and Amandine Henry.

A clear progression

The Deacon method still seems to work.

During this Euro 2022, the French women's team reached the last four of a major competition for the first time since the London Olympics in 2012. It had not qualified for the last Tokyo Games.
