The German striker Alexandra Popp has had great success in the EC.

After starting the first group stage match against Denmark on the bench, she got her chance in the last half hour and scored straight away.

Since then, she has been a regular in the starting eleven and has thanked for the trust by scoring goals in all matches.

In the semi-final against France, she became a big hero with her two goals and that led the German magazine Fums to suggest that she should get a chance in the men's national team's World Cup squad that will defend the German colors in Qatar.

And Popp himself does not seem completely alien to such an arrangement.

During today's press conference, the 31-year-old caused the assembled media to burst into laughter when she took off her mouth guard and revealed a loose moustache.

- We wanted to have some fun with everything that appeared on social media and that's why I'm "Alexander" at the moment, says Popp before she continues in a much deeper tone:

- I am happy to be here.
